Ben turns nine years old today. To celebrate, his father lets him pick out three sweets during a trip to the supermarket. However, his childlike innocence is shaken shortly afterward when he witnesses his father being confronted by a stranger at the supermarket checkout. From a distance, little Ben doesn’t understand much of what’s happening, but it seems to have something to do with his father’s background. Ben doesn’t fully grasp what just occurred, but he realizes that something has happened.
